First Trailer For New Jungle Book Movie "Mowgli" Produced By Warner Bros



The first trailer for Mowgli - the new movie inspired by Rudyard Kipling Jungle Book and produced by Warner Bros, not Disney - is now online, and it looks great. You have the trailer below as well as screen shots and a new poster for the film directed by Andy Serkis, and to be released this October.

Synopsis: The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.

The actors voicing the story’s central animal characters are: Christian Bale as Bagheera,  Cate Blanchett as the snake, Kaa, Benedict Cumberbatch as the fearsome tiger, Shere Khan, Naomie Harris as Nisha, the female wolf, who adopts the baby Mowgli as one of her cubs, and Andy Serkis as the bear, Baloo. On the human side, Matthew Rhys is Lockwood, Freida Pinto is Messua and theyoung actor Rohan Chand play Mowgli himself.

This looks really promising! Unlike Disney's recent, lazy remake, this one seems to keep true to the original book.

One problem though: the elephant has very long tusks. I thought only African elephants did, not Asian ones.
